MIAMI, July 23 (Our Florida Times) — Burger King is trying to tighten up service around its most famous sandwich.
In an official announcement datelined Miami, Fla., the chain said it is rolling out two customer-service changes: a reworked restaurant manager role called the “Your Way Champion” and a “Whopper Guarantee” for sandwiches that do not meet customer expectations.
The changes come after Burger King said it collected customer feedback earlier in the year through phone calls and text messages.
What is the “Your Way Champion”?
Burger King describes the Your Way Champion as a reimagined restaurant manager role meant to put the guest experience first. The company said the role includes a dedicated uniform and makes that person the point of contact for customers.
Burger King said the job is meant to help with customization and make sure orders are handled the way guests asked for them.
The company has not said whether every Burger King location will get the new role, or how many stores will use it.
What is the Whopper Guarantee?
Burger King says the Whopper Guarantee is a promise to remake a Whopper on the spot if it does not meet expectations. The company also says guests will get their next Whopper free of charge.
Burger King said the free follow-up offer can be redeemed with a QR code.
The company has not explained the full rules for that QR-code process, including any time limits or other limits, and it has not said whether the guarantee applies to every Whopper variation.
Why is Burger King making these changes now?
Burger King said the changes are based on customer feedback gathered through phone lines it opened earlier in the year.
A Burger King representative told Fox News Digital that the company invited people to share honest feedback and said the biggest lesson was that guests want to feel welcomed, want their order made the way they asked, and want confidence that problems will be fixed.
Tom Curtis, president of Burger King US and Canada, has also said the company has been listening closely to guests. In interviews, he said he personally responded to 1,800 customer calls and that Burger King had received more than 70,000 incoming communications. In another interview, he said 12,000 calls helped point the company toward more menu work.
Because those figures came from different interviews, Burger King has not offered one single total for all customer contact.
How does the Whopper update fit in?
The new service push follows Burger King’s earlier changes to the Whopper itself.
In February, Burger King said it updated the sandwich with a glazed bun, creamier mayonnaise and clamshell packaging instead of paper. The company said those changes were the first to the Whopper in almost 10 years and were available at more than 7,000 locations nationwide.
Burger King also said the Whopper still uses more than a quarter-pound of 100% flame-grilled beef.
Restaurant Brands International CEO Joshua Kobza later said on an earnings call, as quoted by CNBC, that the redesign was drawing positive guest feedback and helping drive the Whopper’s strongest average unit volumes in more than three years.
What this means for Florida diners
For Florida customers, the main takeaway is that Burger King’s latest changes are being announced from the company’s Miami base, but the chain has not named any specific Florida restaurants or local franchisees that will handle the new roles first.
So far, the company’s message is simple: it wants guests to feel heard, wants orders to be made correctly, and wants the Whopper to arrive the way customers expect it.
